'Smarter' Villains?

So, in my game; FALLOUT ANARCHY, I have just recently added enemies. But the problem is that they're acting kinda stupid. Since we're in a building, there's walls in their way. So they just walk into them like derps if you're on the other side. Plus, the main villain does the same, and if you can glitch him into a corner, he's easy to kill. I don't want any of that. So, I know I'm talking about making a whole thinking process for these guys, but it'll be worth it. My honest goal is to make it with the big guys on Flowlab, and this game is my ticket there. I want it to be flawless. Please help. =D
